Dr. Kent Yundt, MD
One of the preeminent neurosurgeons in his field, Dr. Yundt founded the Northwest Brain & Spine in Bend, Oregon in 1999. In addition to his work with the Central Oregon clinic, Dr. Yundt is the Chief of Surgery and President-Elect of the Medical Staff for Cascade Healthcare. Previously Dr. Yundt was an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine where he served in the Department of Neuroscience of Med Center One Health Systems in Bismarck, North Dakota. Previously he was Chief Resident in Neurological Surgery at the Washington University Medical Center – Barnes Hospital / St. Louis Children’s Hospital where he also completed his residency. Dr. Yundt received his MD from the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in addition to receiving a research elective from the school’s Department of Biochemistry.
A highly distinguished researcher and lecturer, Dr. Yundt has conducted extensive research on brain trauma and other neurological disorders and has been published in a wide array of esteemed medical journals. Dr. Yundt has received several awards including a teaching award and research award at Washington University. Listed in the 2001 edition Strathmore’s Who’s Who, Dr. Yundt is also a board member of the Tour Deschutes. Dr. Yundt is proud to report that he ran the St. Louis Marathon in under 3 ½ hours.
